The IELTS: International English Language Testing Systems is standardized test jointly offered by British Council, IDP, IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. The academic institutions and employers from countries where English is the first language look for your IELTS Score to measure whether you will be able to study/work in an English settings.
To measure the level of English of Non-Native English Speakers, applicants are required to present the results of an English Proficiency Test. The IELTS is one such test to measure English proficiency. The IELTS Score is valid for a period of two years. There is no minimum eligibility criterion for taking the test. The test has four sections Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking and the total duration is 2 hour 45 minutes.
